Governance Policy
Editorial Board
The Editorial Board is made up of a group of researchers - professors and academics - from different teaching and research institutions that are representative in the scientific world. It does not necessarily act collectively and there is no provision for regular meetings with specific agendas, nor is there any formal link between the members of the Board and the legal entity responsible for publishing the journal.
The members are responsible for giving their opinions on issues involving the improvement of the Editorial Policies, appointing referees, publicizing the journal, thinking about strategies for action and innovation in the academic and professional environment and dealing with ethical issues when called upon.
The Editorial Board does not interfere in the editorial process, but may be called upon by the Scientific Editor for deliberations involving strategic and/or operational issues. It acts to maintain the scientificity, rigor and reliability necessary to underpin the credibility of a scientific journal.
Scientific Committee
The Scientific Committee is made up of members of the scientific community, representing the areas in which this journal has influence, who come from Brazil and may also have members from abroad.
Its aim is to promote the scientificity, rigor and reliability of the editorial process, which consequently guarantees the credibility of the publications. It must also be committed to ethics and the criteria for indexing in renowned databases, as well as seeking institutional and financial support to maintain the journal.
Its members work individually and, if necessary, collectively to reflect on editorial policies and procedures.
The Scientific Editor heads the Committee and can request individual or collective contributions by calling a meeting.
They may also request a meeting to discuss issues involving the structure and development of this journal. The Committee may indicate themes for special issues/dossiers.
The Scientific Committee does not interfere in the journal's editorial process.
Scientific Editor
The Scientific Editor is responsible for editing the journal in technical and scientific terms and has a support team for routine administrative issues involving the editorial process, which in this journal is carried out by electronic system, a fact that makes the process impersonal and transparent as stated in the publishing process provided by the Open Journal System (OJS) platform.
The editor is responsible for: (i) prior evaluation of manuscripts - desk rejection - including assessing whether the author(s) have adopted the submission guidelines; (ii) forwarding them to reviewers; (iii) forwarding them for revision; and (iv) publishing approved manuscripts.
The Scientific Editor coordinates the actions of the Scientific Committee and works in conjunction with the Editorial Board to reflect on the journal's strategic issues.
